OOps - I did it again! This time it's with Long and Foster real estate!
Oops -- I did it again. This time, though, the change is for a good long time -- and it's MY decision to make. The change that I'm referring to is the fact that I have just joined Long & Foster Real Estate . I'm excited about the change, as it's something that my partners on The Bob Wells Realty Group and I have been considering for quite a while.
You might remember a recent post I made regarding the switch that my former affiliation made when they shocked the local real estate market by announcing that they are leaving the Coldwell Banker brand and joining Prudential Real Estate. Yes, I was excited about the change at the time, yet it was a hopeful optimism. We realized that what we were missing was still not there and didn't meet the needs and plans that we have outlined for ourselves in our team business plan.
A few of my recent posts had to do with some soul searching that I had to do and unanswered questions that I needed to ponder.
I wondered about whether any of us are ever satisfied with what we have in Are We Nuts when I watched that crazy squirrel chasing what was clearly a goal. I wondered some more in Is the Grass Greener? as we encountered enourmous recruiting efforts that have been going on in the area. Some quite funny, some we still have open bets on, others shocked us. We always listen to what someone has to say as we are always being recruited, but we also know that money isn't everything (yes, even Euros) and that there is a lot to consider in the big picture. And although I am never one to make a life-altering decsion based on what I've read on the internet, Does a Logo Matter confirmed to me that when you provide quality service for your clients, it doesn't matter what "color" (or brand name) your logo is. And even my post about my son acheiving his dreams in A Young Man's Journey was personally not just about how proud I am of my son, but just confirmed to me that one is never too old to continue to make and meet their goals, no matter what industry they are in, be it film or real estate. I have been with my previous affiliation, the HomeSale Services Group, for my entire licensed real estate career. I have nothing but the highest respect for what they have acheived in the area, for their vision and the impact they have made on the industry. Yet, it's time for me to leave the nest . It's time for me to affiliate myself with a different kind of broker , a different kind of vision and a different kind of environment . One that will help me to better serve my buyer and seller clients and to better meet their needs. Bigger, is not alway "better".
We spent the day yesterday unpacking boxes and arranging our desks.
I spent the day today taking a new listing for a seller and writing up an offer for a buyer. Off to a good start, as far as I'm concerned! I hope it's a sign of even greater things to come.
Celebrate with me, and wish me luck on my new journey!
