 The Hempfield School District is one of Lancaster County's largest district, with over 7,000 students combined, and over 850 employees. Hempfield School District extends over 44 square miles which includes two townships and two boroughs (East Hempfield Township, West Hempfield Township, East Petersburg Boro and Mountville Boro).
The disctict includes one high school, two middle schools, and 7 elementary schools. Many recent school renovations were completed, including a two-story science wing, a technology center, and a performing arts center in the high school.
 The Amos Herr Parkis located in Landisville, and is a fun place to gather. It is a 56-Acre park that was donated to the township by Mr. Amos Herr, whose family was one of the earliest settlers in Landisville. The Park offers a "dream park" playground, basketball, tennis, soccer, baseball, volleyball, and rented pavilions for your  private functions and gatherings. Many times throughout the year there are craft shows and other fun gatherings going on.
The Four Seasons Golf Course is a 220-acre site located along Stony Battery Road and is open year-round. It is an 18-hole, 121-acre course, with more than 80 acres of open space.
 The Hempfield Area Recreation Commission (HARC) The Hempfield Area Recreation Commission is a non-profit organization providing a variety of wholesome, affordable recreational activities and services that encourage fitness and fun for the entire Hempfield area.
West Hempfield Township West Hempfield was defined in 1729 when the boundaries of Lancaster County were established.
